We have yet to understand , as a larger culture, that productivity should be geared toward expanding collective BENEFITS in building people, education and health services for larger society, and to to say no to productivity and production of shit as excessive things we do not need that are not ecologically sustainable and that causes harm, callousness and deaths to our fellow earthlings.
‘If we could’ restore critical ecological life systems that are now severely challenged we have to individually examine our beliefs about what constitutes natural and healthy productivity , and ask what are the true cost of these unexamined mechanisms within ourselves that look to expand and increase our attachments to profit, property and habits of consumerism! This unexamined profit for property and habituated and prevalent advertised consumerism machine is killing us from the outside in.
Examine your core motivations and core needs. For 24 hrs. DROP your need for ownership of homes, cars and things ..and ask what would emerge if we gradually had the courage to share more, and thoroughly examine the cost of the current for profit model we daily engage in. Be the change.
Where TODAY ‘Profit & Property rules’ as ‘THE unexamined evidence of success,’ and ……. where the REAL COST OF SHIT (things for the sake of things) are RARELY DISCLOSED.
The ASSUMPTION that MORE & BIGGER is a better is evidence of the UNEXAMINED life that does not see how we are intimately connected and reliant on complex ecological life system to have life and welfare!
My life is continuously changing as I keep asking this question: What are the true cost of my dreams and my unexamined productivity and consumerism ? I see clearly that I am the culprit and the solution!
“The things you own end up owning you”
I am inconsolable in my grief over the generations of destruction and abuse of animals by humans, I do eat protein and usually make sure it is organic and has had a life but I have
eliminated several things from my diet as my consciousness has grown, Maybe it is time to
take the vegan challenge. I do not wish to perpetrate anymore pain and suffering. Change starts with me. Thank you for sharing.
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way. -Martin Luther King Jr., civil-rights leader (1929-1968)
