ON EXPLORING DEATH AND DYING

When the points of pain is pierced… the soul is seen..and our birthright is reclaimed.

Living a full and connected life requires our capacity to feel and to make use of all our emotional experience. We disconnect from our emotional life when we are afraid of being overwhelmed, humiliated, or perceived as weak or inadequate. If we can be helped to feel safe enough to feel, we can reap the profound benefits of experiencing and exploring the full range of our emotions.

By expressing, attuning and exploring our feelings on death and dying, in a process devoid of all meaning making, we are able to come to a clarity of understanding. It is the pitfall of thinking and meaning making that plunges us into angst and existential anxiety.

As we give adequate attunement and responsiveness to our emotions around death and dying, without the stories, the formerly repressed emotions integrate and form a new clarity of being that is not dependent on the context of thinking or story.

The formerly intolerable sensations of our emotions around death and dying can be not only tolerated, but felt as an essential part of our vitality and our connection to other people. We can gain increased aliveness, presence, and the sense of freedom and mastery that comes from facing what we have avoided.

Your stories are the blanket between the idea of you and the uncertainty. n. english
